About Me
Musicians are passionate and unique individuals…so why shouldn’t your instrument be built with that same level of passion and uniqueness?
A little about me...
I grew up in Frozen Head State Park, where I developed a deep appreciation for the beautiful and unique old-growth trees. I got my first experience in woodworking helping Dad make Trailhead signs and benches.
From 2012-2013, I attended the Galloup Guitar Master’s Program in Big Rapids, Michigan. I built my first four instruments there, culminating in a hand-carved archtop guitar. I had always enjoyed modifying and tinkering with my instruments. But this program showed me how to approach the complex subject of building and repairing guitars the RIGHT WAY.
Soon after graduating, I moved north of Nashville to Hendersonville, Tennessee and set up shop. I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to pursue my passion.
I draw my inspiration from the classic designs of yesterday and combine them with the contemporary features expected by today’s players. Designs that are both reminiscent of days gone by while still capturing the fluidity of modern music. My goal is to always build instruments that are aesthetically pleasing while elevating your playing. Something that will push you artistically to blur the line between player and instrument.
I hope you will consider commissioning an instrument as unique as you are and be a part of the Engebretson Guitars journey!
